I am looking for carpet pad to use under a 9x12 area rug - I have 3 boys who like to roughhouse and wrestle...
what is the thickest, most cushioned pad I can buy? The typical stuff at home depot doesn't cut it.

Bistro: go to a carpet store and get some scrap. if they dont have any available, then buy some uncut from them. A 9 x 12 MIGHT cost you 10 bucks. I have done this myself. good luck!

moluvsmark: get at least an 8lb weight on the padding, especially if they like to wrestle. this will provide lots of badding and soundproofing.
