Which type of under-floor heating is the best, electric or water-fed?
Best being in terms of installation cost, running cost, reliability, and ability to heat a large 35 sq. m room. Will I need additonal radiators in the room as well?
Answers:
caddy: it is always a good idea to have additional radiators but for reliability and cost and for a room that big it will have to be electric

Chosen Answer
xenon: There can only be one correct answer, and it has to be water-fed.
The water is heated by gas or oil preferably in a condensing boiler, and pumped around plastic pipes embedded in the concrete.
Gentle heat is emitted throughout the entire floor giving an overall distribution of heat on the ground floor.
In upper floors it is customery to have double convectors installed as they are less disruptive,
Electricity by its nature is VERY expensive however it is used.
