When can we put area rugs down on our newly refinished wood floor?
It was sanded down and coated with 2 coats of polyeurethane.

Dave S: I would wait 24 hours to allow the poly to "cure". Less if in "dry" climate. If you are running your heat this time of the year make sure to turn off humidifier on your furnace if you have one.

justme: I would leave it at least 48 hours. If the sealer is not completely cured, it could leach up into the rugs. It won't necesarily do harm to the rug, but it may leave imprints on the floor surface.
