Painting a funky room-- with funky furniture... HELP!?
Painting a funky room-- with funky furniture... HELP!?
My husband bought these HUGE Bretz Brothers couches from Germany... theyre very expensive or I'd put them on the driveway with a free sign....The couch is HUGE, BRIGHT blue with people shaped pillows in different bright colors and the chair is HUGE and BRIGHT RED .... I did my best by trying to just GO with a funky modern feel-- plain black area rug, black picture frames and modern looking lamps.... but my husband wants to PAINT THE WALLS....why I dont know. BUT WHAT COLOR IS THE QUESTION?????? HELP!?THanks!

Amber M: I'm assuming white is not an option?
Try picking a color that's in the couch pillows, if there's one you can stand. How much natural light is in the room? If it's a brighter room, you could go with a violet or green maybe. Yellow would be a good choice if there's not a lot of natural light.
If I were you, I'd sell the furniture AND the husband. ;)
Good luck!

Michelle L: wow, the furniture sounds interesting but yeah...BOLD, which makes for a tough wall color IMHO.
White would be my first guess, but if you are wanting some shade of color, then look at very very very pale gray's. Such as Sherwin Williams Eider White or Snowfall. Gray's are netural and will compliment the black accessories. I really think that adding another color would be a no-no, but it's your house.

Interior Designer: Sources of inspiration: Miami , ART DECO STYLE
It was widely considered to be an eclectic form of elegant and stylish modernism, being influenced by a variety of sources.
This movement was, in a sense, an amalgamation of many different styles and movements of The early 20th century, including Constructivism, Cubism, Modernism, Bauhaus, Art Nouveau, and Futurism.
Corresponding to these influences, Art Deco is characterized by use of materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, lacquer, inlaid wood, sharkskin (shagreen), and zebra skin. The bold use of stepped forms, and sweeping curves (unlike the sinuous, natural curves of the Art Nouveau), chevron patterns, and the sunburst motif are typical of Art Deco.
FUNKY RETRO VINTAGE ART DECO STYLE Wallpaper should be absolutely perfect for this room.
