How do I stop my cat from urinating on chairs, area rugs, blankets...ect.?
I have two cats and two dogs. The cats are brothers. I utilize two litter boxes and clean them daily. I've taken the pisser to the vet and there is no medical problem.

Jilly: It's most likely territorial drift. If the boys are neutered, you might try feliway spray...if they aren't neutered, have that done asap.

shanusav: Beat him to it. Mark out your territory.
LOL
Seriously, the solution I used was to push the cats nose into his own messes. They naturally don't like this and get the message eventually that there is a right place and wrong place to go. But if that is too inhumane for you you might try following Hartz advice.

becca9892003: if they are fixed and are still doing this you have a big problem..they usually never stop the bad habit...make kitty an outside kitty or don't plan on entertaining often.....if they are not fixed get them fixed and that will usually help with the problem..talk to your vet about other options.

michele_cat_cyprus: Cats are by nature extremely clean animals and when they stop using the litter tray they are trying to tell you that something is wrong.
You've done the sensible thing by taking your cat to the vet for a check up to see if there was a medical reason. As your vet has ruled this out, did they offer any advice or suggestions? Does your vet think it's a behavioural problem?
Cats are extremely complex animals and there are many different reasons why he might be urinating in places other than the litter box. Cats are very much creatures of habit and any changes within the home, no matter how insignificant they might seem to us, can make a more sensitive cat feel under threat. Simple things like changing the brand of litter or even moving the furniture around can upset some. I've posted a link below to a site which will help you determine the cause and gives advice on how to resolve the problem.

When cats toilet in places within the home where they shouldn't, never rub their noses in it. There is absolutely no point in doing this as the cat wont understand why you are being mean to him for going to the toilet and it will only make him fear or resent you.
Put your thinking cap on about any changes or an event that may have happened to your cat recently and you will find information about it on the web link provided.
Good luck.
