Questions Area Rugs
Question about area rugs...?
Can anyone tell me if it is tacky to use a large carpet remnant as an area rug rather than buying a regular rug? I'm on a pretty tight budget, and I need a LARGE (10x10 ish) rug for our living room. Regular rugs that large are several hundred dollars. What do you think? Any other suggestions?
Does having a remnant bound cost much? Who would do it?
Keptical:No. There is nothing tacky about this at all. I have bound and sold hundreds of room sized remnants over the years and 10 x 10 is the most common size.
Be careful though. Many remnants of higher quality could cost more than a printed area rug.

Queen Anne house with planked area (Where rug used to be), how do I finish this area?
HI. I have an 1886 Queen Anne. It is a historical home, and, has beautiful parquet floors using 6 woods throughout. Our living room, dining room, kitchen are all one big space with an open staircase. What can I do to insulate a basement?
I'm moving in with a friend who is renting a home. And my living room suite will be placed in a corner of the basement. The basement temperature is about 72 degrees F. Doggie psychology question...Why does my dog drag throw-rugs out of rooms and downstairs???
JUST HILARIOUS!! What is he trying to tell us???? Please be "logical" and I'm not asking for advice in additional areas...thank you. He doesn't do it constantly AND it's usually when I'm not in the house, but it is a "habit" of his to occasionally go upstairs, into either the bathroom or a bedroom, and pick up the "throw rug", and drag it downstairs. He either leaves it on the steps, or drags it through the doggie door and outside.. Interesting!!!
He is a golden retriever male, age 2
Chalice:As with all areas of dog psychology, it's not really possible to offer an explanation without knowing about 'additional areas'. The reason behind your dog's behaviour probably lies in other areas of his behaviour. I think the fact that he does it when you're not in the house is telling.

How should I go about ridding my whole house of the smell that makes dogs keep peeing?
I have been using Natures Miracle to get rid of the spots immediately after he uses the restroom there. and from what I can see it is working but now he is peeing in places that he never would have looked at twice before I got rid of his old ones. So now its like I am having to clean the whole house with this stuff and its not the cheapest thing in the world either. I have already gone through one whole bottle in a week. I take him out side and he pees but its almost like he doesn't let it all o

What do you think of this?
I have alot of animals, 7 dogs, 4 cats, Guinea Pigs, reptiles, and a vast amount of others. I have acreage and the farm animals are there. We have a 2 car heated garage that we transformed into the "Animal Sanctuary". It has couches, area rugs, chairs, sofas, an old tv with vcr to play animal appropriate videos. The cat boxes are out there in a fenced perimeter from the dogs with a kitty door in the wall. The dogs stay in this room when I am gone and most of the day but we go out and socialize w
Terrier (UK):Unfortunately there's so much misinformation spread around that I'm pretty sure that whatever you do you'll be called "cruel" by somebody.
Can you give that many animals the care they need? That's the only consideration. I certainly couldn't look after that many animals properly. Look at ... More...
Carpet installation question???
Ok, my husband and I are thinking of renting a house... We like everything about it, except for the fact that there is no carpet! I was wondering if there was a way to attach carpet to the floor so as not to leave any type of residue, marks, etc... Like if we measured all the areas that we want carpeted and went and had the carpet cut (kind of like a rug) would we be able to lay it down and not have the edges come up?? I don't really want to use area rugs, I would prefer that it go all the way t
don_vvvvito:.if you just put carpet down I think you could use some heavy duty double-faced tape and just applied it along the perimeter of the floor.....using padding would make it a little more difficult but if you used some 1/4 inch padding and cut it back maybe a good 3 inches from the wall it might work...... richardwptljc:1) The area of the rug is 12(8) = 96
The length and width of the room is 12+2+2= 16 and 8+2+2 = 12. Area of room is 16(12) = 192
192 = 2(96)
3) The ratio of the areas of the circles is A^2:B^2
The ratio of the circumferences is A:B
