Can I use a carpet cleaning machine on my soiled SILK area rug that says "spot cleaning only"?
My dog has peed on it a couple of times, and it is placed in a heavy-traffic area. I have a Bissell or Hoover or some similar kind of carpet cleaning machine. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I would be very careful if you were cleaning anything silk because silk is a delicate fabric. If it says spot cleaning try cleaning it first by hand before going to the machine. I think you could always call the company of the Bissell or Hoover company and ask them if they're cleaner would be safe to use on silk rugs. I think that would be safer.

Silk is solvent clean only, spot clean only for a reason. If you are not comfortable cleaning it yourself, contact a qualified technician in your area.
