A room makeover in desperate need of help!!?
Okay, so my room is a hideous purple mess. Everything is purple and I've hated it for the like last 5 years. So I finally got tired of it and I'm redoing my room and it's going to be antique with a polished or crisp look. Since my carpet is purple to and I don't have enough money to replace it does anyone know where I can fin a 12' x 12' oriental area rug besides a garage or estate sale? Please help me!!!

Dannnnnielle:  TJ max might have some, target, local thrift store...or you could just make your room a purple theme except repaint the walls...

girlygirl:  i love purple. my room is that color but its like a lavender, like a royal pruple. But i agree, purple carpet is a big nono. I have an idea for you, paint your walls whatever background color you like. Then choose a darker color,(any shade) and get a stencil and do patterns on ur walls. Get a chandelier stencil that would look with an oriental theme(like tan-cream background, then maroon chandeliers on the walls in a diamond pattern) Your room would look Hot! As for the rug go to a rug store, or home furnishings or go to a huge home market thing where they sell tons and tons of rugs Good Luck! Look for themes in magazine, and make it look cool.

LandParkySnarky:  Ikea has cheap rugs, or another idea is to pick up a bunch of small coordinating bath/kitchen rugs that complement your new decor, and scatter them around to strategically cover the purple. I did this with solid round ones, black and white with a couple of red ones that matched my accent color (over hard wood).

Sami Rylie:  Okay. So you can buy an oriental rug at Goodwill or at Thrift Co., About the purple carpet, if you have already replaced it, maybe you have wood flooring under your carpet. I also heard that there is a safe way to bleach your carpet so it is a pure white. You would have to ask around. But I would deff check about the wood floors. They may also have a place by you that is going out of buuisness that sells flooring, as a cheeper alternitive.
