What can I use instead of area rugs?
I am moving to an apt with all concrete floors and need to put some type of rug in living area. Only problem is that I don't want my dog to have an accident on the rug. Any suggestions on where to get a type of rug that is washable at home, or maybe an alternative?

There are other type of rugs that can be taken outside and washed. A real nice one is the Hemingway collection. If you can, you can paint a rug design on the concrete.

Ciarra:  My boyfriend is worse than a dog. He carries in grease, mud, dirt you name it. I have the same problem. I go to Walmart and buy their really really cheap rugs. They are washable and actually look nice. The best part about them are that they are so cheap. If it gets ruined you can just go pick up another one. However, I'm not too sure how big they come.

#1glamb:  well what you can do is buy carpet tiles.
they're basically small square foot squares, not that expensive and if one gets dirty, than just take it out into your backyard, wash it out and bring it b ack in

pretty easy.
go to flor.com

Clara M.:  You could actually try rubber floor mats. They are really affordable...dog proof basically and easy to install yourself. Dont think black, ugly rubber either.... some of them are actually better than other floors. they are pretty awesome. Here: some info on rubber floors:
http://www.findanyfloor.com/rubber/RubberFlooring.xhtml />You can also take these floors with you, no damage anything in the apartment with a new floor installation and leave the apartment looking just as you moved in when you left.... you can install them in your garage etc. when you get into another place. really easy great floors
