Where can I get a big piece of carpet any color, that is cut to the size of an area rug?
I want to redecorate my living room and I dont want a fancy persian or oriental rug over my hardwood floors, I just want a regular piece of rug, that can be made into an area rugh. Kinda like a big piece of carpet cut into a big square and used as an area rug. Where can I get something like this?

Ashley: Call a flooring store and ask for a carpet remnant. They are the leftover pieces of carpet from when they install it in people's houses. It shouldn't cost as much since it is basically scraps.

rob s: Any carpet store you can buy a carpet of your choice for color or style. And you can get remnants at some places but your styles and colors will be limited..
Then you can cut them or they will down to the size you want.
Most carpets come in 12' lengths ( some in 15') so know what size or sizes you want. Especially if you want some matching runners or some mats to put in front of doors as you walk in.
Most good stores have or have access to rug binding and surging to bind the sides so you don t get raggedy edges over time...
Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar.. GL

Clara M.: call a flooring store a see what kinds of carpets they have. You can always go and purchase a reg. carpet and add some backing onto it. here is a directory to find a store near you. Call a few places, stop in a see what your options are. :)
