Colleen:  With the experience I've had in renting less than perfectly clean apartments, Rug Doctor carpet cleaners were my saving grace. I hate renting simply because I know nothing about the previous tenants cleanliness and such...but as far as I'm concerned the Rug Doctor carpet cleaners do a GREAT job. Although, I know here in the U.S. we can just rent them and do the job ourselves so we don't have to pay anyone else to do it. They are pretty simple to use.

Stive:  Rug Doctor sells and rents carpet cleaning machines and carpet cleaning products. I chose to rent a carpet steam cleaning machine, since I was cleaning just one large room. I found a rental unit at a local grocery store. I have also seen the machines for rent at hardware stores, tool rental stores, and occasionally a drug store/pharmacy.

Martha Z:  j have used these machines many times. easy to use and work well. you will be amazed at how dirty the water is when dumped out.
