My second floor honeywell thermostat is showing "flame" on yet it is not heating at all, what should I do?
I actually shut down the second floor heating and keep the first floor heating on at 50 F during the day. When I arrive at home at night I turn on the second floor heating. It works this way until this time.

Judy: I think it is time to pull out the manual that came with the thermostat or call someone that is knowledgeable about heating and thermostats.

chaz: Your question is a little confusing. Because in your "Heading" it sounds like you're wondering why your heat doesn't work, then in your second statement you state that you actually "SHUT-DOWN" your heater for the upstairs!! So can you please clarify your question!!
My second floor honeywell thermostat is showing "flame" on "yet it is not heating at all", what should I do?
Then you say: I actually "shut down" the second floor heating and keep the first floor heating on at 50 F during the day.
Are you wondering why if the second story heating is "SHUT DOWN" during the day - how is it that your second floor thermostat showing flame?

Jim D: If the thermostat says there is a call for heating, but the heat is not coming on, that means there is a component failure in the furnace itself. The problem could be anything. It is impossible to give you any useful advice from your description. If you cannot provide more details, you will need to call a heating company to come diagnose the problem.
