Has anyone used Rug Doctor carpet cleaning solution in a Hoover steam cleaner?
Has anyone used Rug Doctor carpet cleaning solution in a Hoover steam cleaner?
Hoover's printed material that came with the machine says that only Hoover products should be used because of potential electrical hazards. Hoover cleaning solutions are very expensive and I suspect that they may want to sell cleaning solution without any competition. Anyone have an answer?

katrina6666: I use whatever brand on sale but I only use about 1/2 of what they tell you to use. I found that using the recommended amounts results in crunchy floors and sticky - soap residue I'm sure - made them get dirty FAST and I had to re do. LESS cleaner is BETTER and the hot water does most of the work. My own opinion and it's what I do!
