my older male cat has been dropping a tird on my mother in laws oriential rug?
My older male cat has been off and on dropping a tird or two onto my mother in laws Oriental rug. I have tried that spray that is to make them not go back to that area and go again but he has. I haven't changed his litter box position and I also haven't moved anything around to upset him so I don't know how to get him to stop doing this. Can you help me please.
I have a problem I can't move the rug she is refusing to move it so what can I do.. I have tried the Aluminam foil trick and he just walks on it.

Brad Kane: Older cats tend to do this, they want to make their life as simple as possible, so the only thing you can do is move the rug.

Jess Kent: move the rug, he's probably getting it confused as a place he can do that. If the rug has a rough texture or something he may think it's similar to the ground outside or something

Andi: Remove the rug all together and see if the cat continues to poop there. If not problem solved.
