How should I make my room brighter for spring/summer?
I have a dark oriental rug in my room, but I don't want to get rid of it. I have white walls and a baby blue carpet underneath the area rug. I have a vintage green desk and two light wood bookcases. I also have a wall of stuff on one of my walls that does make the room a little darker, i guess. I have off white blinds on the windows and white curtains on my closet that I use instead of doors. It's a small room. I'm a teenage girl if that helps.

pandalover_489: You could always paint the walls! You can make it a darker feel again for winter with the right amount of lighting and furniture. Definitely incorporate light and woody colors with all furniture pieces. Add a plant or nice flower maybe?

Katie: put a plant in there. buy new curtains that have pastel colors or sparkles. find some beaded curtains or curtains that tie back so it looks more open. hang Chinese lanterns. yellow and pink always make a room brighter, avoid darker blues and reds
